In 2019, The Place kicked off celebrations for its 50th anniversary as one of the UK’s key dance institutions. To mark the occasion we partnered with them to devise and create a series of three topical animations, each exploring a different element of dance. The first in the series explores the history of contemporary dance and uses a mixed-media aesthetic that draws upon The Place’s extensive film and photography archive.
We’ve also worked with The Place’s education department to produce a promotional video for their Partner Schools programme. Shot on location in schools across the borough of Camden, we interviewed teachers and pupils to explore what having access to dance means to them.
“I’ve loved working with you on the film.
The whole process has been clear, even to a novice like me, and I’ve had confidence in the whole team from the outset. You’ve helped me to realise the film I wanted to make but it is more beautiful than I had imagined it could be.”
